The main exhibition at the Salzburg Museum is a journey through the Festivals history featuring photographs, films, sketches, costumes and many other objects. Beginning in the founding years of the Festival, you follow a timeline right up to our current days, meeting the main artists and visionaries. The exhibition introduces not only individual personalities who influenced the Festival and their works, but also the social and political phenomena that accompanied the changeful history of the Salzburg Festival.
At the end of the journey, the performance of performances awaits you upon a stylized world stage. In addition, the exhibition shows the complete encyclopedia The Salzburg Festival from A to Z: the letters of the alphabet symbolize terms that represent the Festival, reflecting the history of the Salzburg Festival.
